The Impact of the Regional Differentiation of Land Supply on Total Factor Productivity in China: From the Perspective of Total Factor Productivity Decomposition

Increasing total factor productivity is the key to promoting high-quality economic development. This paper starts with land supply as an institutional source and discusses impact of regional differentiation on in China. Based panel data 273 cities China from 2003 2017, this measures (TFP) using DEA-Malmquist index, decomposes it into technical progress (TE), pure efficiency (PE) scale (SE), analyzes effect TFP spatial Durbin model mediating model. study finds following: (1) At national level, tilting central western regions leads a contradiction between demand, which hinders by suppressing TE, PE SE. (2) reduction eastern region expands technological substitution rate, induces enterprise innovation, thus promotes but inhibits SE under resource constraint congestion effect, improvement TFP.
